How To Sell With Us

What would YOU like to find in our store? Our inventory is only as good as what we get from you.  So, when looking at the items your children have outgrown, ask yourself if it is something you would like to see on the racks and shelves of our store when you come in to shop.

Presentation matters!  To get the best price from us for your items be sure to present them in a way that makes us WANT them!  Items need to be clean, working, organized and not overwhelming.  Please take a look through our policies below:

•    Please limit the quantity of items you bring in to 30. This quantity will allow us to review your items in a brief visit, while you wait. This also allows us the opportunity give you the best price for each item.  

•    Please bring items in plastic tubs, laundry baskets, or boxes. NO PLASTIC/TRASH BAGS. Items will NOT be reviewed if they arrive in trash bags. No exceptions.

•    We request that all clothing be brought in freshly laundered, in excellent condition, in style and in season*.

•    All battery-operated items must arrive with working batteries in them so that we may test the functionality of the item. You may take back your batteries if you wish.

•    Furniture and equipment must be wiped down, clean, free of debris and ready for sale. All items must be assembled prior to, or at the store, for review.

•    All toys, baby equipment, and furniture are checked against the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s list of recalled or defective items and will be returned to you if they appear on this list.

How It Works:

1.    Please call ahead to reserve a slot! Walk-in's with 10 items or less can come in any time, but appointments are given priority.  Walk-in’s will only be seen time-permitting, and you may be asked to make an appointment and return another day. (See below for our new Drop & Run options!)

2.    Select the items you would like to sell to us (no more than 30 total items at a time).

•    Clothing should be laid flat or on hangers (please only use hangers if you are donating them to the store)
•    All smaller items and clothing should be brought in a laundry basket or box.

3.    Arrive at your appointment time and we will review your items while you wait.  

4.    We select the items we believe we can sell and make you an offer! On average we offer cash at 30% of our retail price and store credit at 40% of our retail price.

5.    Items we do not take can either be donated to charity or taken back.

6.    We do not have room to store anything.  Items left for over 48 hours will be donated.

At Growin’ Like a Weed we know how important it is to find quality clothing at an excellent price, therefore we prefer to carry clothing from lines that have proven to be durable and stylish such as:

 * STYLE AND SEASON

In-style refers to the age of the clothing. Clothes over three years old are no longer considered “in-style” and are not current enough to be sold.

 In season refers to the time of year the clothing will be worn. Due to a lack of storage inside Growin’ Like a Weed, we can only stock clothing that is “in season”.

 

 

•    Fall & Winter items are taken from September through December
•    Spring and Summer items are taken in from February through July.

 

Drop & Run

Established customers (who have sold to us a minimum of two times) may now Drop & Run! Bring your 30 items (or less) into the store and select from the following options:

 

1.    Drop your items and select the payment method you would like (CASH, CHECK, or STORE CREDIT)
2.    Select how you want your unwanted items handled (Donated to charity or to be picked up by 5pm)
3.    Checks can be mailed out the next day- no need to return to the store! A $2 handling fee will be subtracted from your total.

**Those selecting either CASH or to PICK-UP their remaining items MUST return by 5pm.  Any items left after the close of business will be added to our donation run and cash will automatically be converted to Store Credit.
